Luxury Drapery for Beverly Hills Homes
Trousdale walls of glass, Beverly Park estate windows, Flats traditional bay openings, and Beverly Hills Post Office canyon-view rooms each ask for a different vocabulary. The studio specifies fabric, heading, fullness, and hardware to the architecture of the house — never from a swatch wall in isolation. Belgian and Italian linen, figured silk through Holland & Sherry and Rubelli, and performance weaves for the west-facing rooms that demand them.
Motorized Drapery Systems
Motorized drapery in Beverly Hills is specified on the lighting platform the home already runs — most often Lutron QS or RA3, with Crestron, Savant, and Control4 close behind. Hardwired DC motors disappear into recessed ceiling pockets; Somfy battery motors are reserved for retrofits where wall-fishing is not feasible. The drapery program is commissioned with the integrator before the install team leaves the site.
Blackout Drapery for Primary Suites
Beverly Hills primary suites get the studio’s most demanding blackout work — interlined panels on side channels with a parallel sheer track, recessed ceiling pockets, and motorized layering on one keypad scene. Theatrical darkness for sleep; cinema-grade darkness for screening rooms; a daytime sheer that lets the canyon or the lawn do the work the rest of the time.
Ripple Fold & Contemporary Styles
Ripple fold on a recessed ceiling track is the studio’s default contemporary specification — a continuous S-curve in linen, wool sheer, or silk-blend voile that reads as a vertical plane of fabric rather than as a window treatment. Specified for Trousdale, the Bird Streets, and contemporary new-build estates where the architecture asks for quiet.
French Pleat & Traditional Styles
French pleat, goblet pleat, and inverted pleat in Belgian linen, figured silk, or wool flannel for traditional Beverly Hills interiors — the Flats, the Tudor and Spanish Colonial restorations off Sunset, and the formal living rooms north of Santa Monica Boulevard. Hand-tacked headings, interlining as default, sewn weight chains, mitered corners.
Design Consultation Process
Olga Rechdouni, ASID, meets every Beverly Hills client at the room before any fabric is specified. The consultation covers architecture, daylight, room function, privacy, acoustic target, motorization plan, and how the drapery has to behave ten years in. Fabric is the last conversation, not the first.
Fabric Selection
Direct mill relationships in Belgium, northern Italy, and the United Kingdom. Figured fabric through Holland & Sherry, Dedar, Rubelli, Schumacher, Zimmer + Rohde, Lee Jofa, GP & J Baker, and Scalamandré. Performance and inherently fire-retardant weaves for canyon, hillside, and coastal-adjacent homes. Selections are made on the mill floor, not from a binder.
Fabrication & Installation
Every Beverly Hills panel is fabricated in the studio’s West Hollywood atelier and installed by Olga’s own team — never subcontracted. Primary measurement to the sixteenth of an inch, dry-fit before fabrication on programs above a defined threshold, and on-site commissioning for primary-suite and great-room dressing.
