Downtown Los Angeles Law Firm — Conference Center
This project is a conceptual design study created to explore custom window treatment solutions, fabric applications, motorization systems, and architectural integration. Images are illustrative renderings and do not represent a completed installation.

Commercial Drapery for Acoustic Privacy — a design project in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. The studio's specification practice in design intent, fabric, hardware, fullness, and installation, written from Olga's perspective.
A 35th-floor conference center with six glass-walled meeting rooms inside a single open floor plate. Confidential client conversation was the brief; commercial FR and ADA-compliant operation were the constraints.
Floor-to-ceiling drapery wrapping each glass meeting room on the interior side. Acoustic linen on motorized commercial track, addressable per room from a building management system. Closed drapery delivers visual privacy and measurable acoustic separation; open drapery preserves the open-plan aesthetic.
Inherent FR linen-look acoustic weave, 16 oz., density-specified for mid-frequency absorption at speech range. Topical FR disqualified for commercial-occupancy life-safety standards.
Commercial-grade Forest Group motorized track, hardwired to the BMS. Switches at each meeting-room entry and master override at the reception desk.
Six identical specifications per room for maintenance simplicity. Track installed during the tenant improvement; concealed from the open-plan side by a 4-inch architectural reveal.
Measured 18 dB STC improvement with drapery drawn — adequate for confidential conversation against ambient open-plan noise. My recommendation for commercial conference space: privacy is acoustic before it is visual. Specify the cloth and the coverage to the acoustic target.
