Linen has a hand that no synthetic can imitate. It absorbs daylight without bouncing it, holds its fold with the right weight of interlining, and carries the soft, matte presence that defines a considered California interior.
We specify Belgian and Italian linens almost exclusively — woven for drapery weight, pre-shrunk, and milled to hold a hand-tacked pleat without breaking. Most failed linen drapery we are asked to replace was woven for upholstery, not for hanging.
Every linen panel we deliver is interlined for body, lined to protect the face from sun heat, and bottom-weighted to fall true. Linen alone is a textile; linen specified as drapery is a discipline.

- Will linen drapery wrinkle?
- All linen relaxes. A correctly specified, interlined drapery linen relaxes into soft, intentional movement — not into the broken creases of a shirt. The drape is the point.
- Does linen fade in Los Angeles sun?
- Unlined linen will fade. Our linen drapery is always interlined and lined in cotton sateen to protect the face from direct UV, which is what dictates fade life more than the linen itself.
- Can linen be specified for blackout or motorization?
- Yes. Linen pairs cleanly with three-pass blackout interlining and with hardwired motorized track systems. The weight of a properly built linen panel is, in fact, ideal for motorized travel.
