How to Specify Drapery for Hospitality Spaces
Inherently fire-retardant fabric, motorized layered systems, and the discipline that separates great hotel drapery from average.
Hospitality drapery operates at a higher bar than residential on every axis: code compliance, durability, motorization, integration, and the guest experience that the program ultimately serves.
IFR is non-negotiable
NFPA 701 is the floor; jurisdiction-specific requirements often exceed it. Specify inherently fire-retardant cloth from the brief forward.
Layered motorized systems
Sheer plus decorative plus blackout, each on its own track, each motorized, each integrated with the room keypad and the PMS.
Cleanability and replacement
Specify cleanable assemblies and plan for panel rotation. Hospitality drapery is consumable on a longer cycle than residential.
