Cost of Motorized Drapery

What motorization actually adds to a custom drapery program, and why hardwired DC is worth the difference.

Motorization adds $1,500–$4,000 per opening over a manual specification, plus integration cost coordinated with the home's lighting integrator.

Hardwired DC motors

Lutron Sivoia, Somfy Sonesse, Crestron. $1,800–$4,000 per opening installed. Designed for long, low-maintenance service life when specified correctly.

Battery motors

$800–$2,000 per opening installed. Honest only when wiring is impossible. Plan for battery replacement every three to five years.

Integration

Lutron, Crestron, Savant integration runs $200–$600 per keypad scene; the studio coordinates with the integrator directly.
