Cost of Drapery by Room

What custom drapery typically costs by room type in a Los Angeles luxury residence.

Drapery cost is not uniform across the house. Formal rooms, primary suites, and great rooms carry the heaviest specifications; secondary bedrooms and casual rooms are proportionally lighter.

Formal living and dining rooms

$8,000–$35,000 depending on window count, ceiling height, and fabric tier. French pleat, fully lined and interlined, hand-tacked.

Primary suites

$20,000–$60,000 for a layered sheer-plus-decorative-plus-blackout program with motorization.

Great rooms with walls of glass

$30,000–$150,000 for full-height motorized ripple-fold programs across multi-panel openings.

Secondary bedrooms, offices, studies

$4,000–$15,000 per room depending on layering and motorization.
