How to Budget for Whole-Home Drapery

A framework for budgeting a complete drapery program across a luxury Los Angeles residence.

Whole-home drapery is rarely a single line item. The studio recommends a phased budget that prioritizes primary rooms in year one and secondary rooms in year two.

Phase 1: primary rooms

Living, dining, primary suite, great room. Typically 60–70% of the total drapery investment.

Phase 2: secondary rooms

Guest bedrooms, offices, studies, secondary baths. Typically 20–30%.

Phase 3: utility and accent rooms

Kitchens, breakfast rooms, mudrooms, baths. Typically 5–10%.
